iCat

Today, I asked Mom for a new cell phone, specifically an iPhone. She started to laugh so loud that I got disoriented. It was no joke! My actual cell is too old. See?

After Mom stop laughing, she told me that my request was impossible, that the monthly payment is too high and that I will not be able to use it appropriately. Who does she think she's talking with? I'm even more technologically oriented by the minute. I LOVE texting with my friends and I'm a dedicated learner of acronyms and text message jargon.

To prove it, I'm including a short list of some of those acronyms.

Famous cats

YYYYYYYAAAAAAWWWWWWMMMMNNNNN..... arg!

Oh, hi! Here I am... bored. Mom went out to work aaaaaallllll daaaayyyy.
I'm not gonna complain, somebody has to earn money to buy cat food.

I stayed alone all day, well, there were my stepbro and sis, but they don't socialize if Mom's not around. So I decided to do something by myself. Since I liked so much the history lesson Albert The Cat gave the other day in his blog, I decided to find out something interesting in that area. What can be more interesting than the history of cats in my country, Puerto Rico. So I headed up to Mom's library to check her books.

Nothing there. It's shameful. Then, I had to use the Internet. Let's see... mmm.... aja.....ohhh... *yawwwwwnn*.... nop.....nop......nop.... nothing here....oh, what is that? I don't know what they are doing, but it's not related to cats. *Blushing*, change it, change it, change it!!!

Well, no luck so far. But I did find something interesting: A list of names of famous cats. Go ahead and see if yours is there. Mine isn't, so I have the oportunity to be the first one.

Cat fight

Do you want a piece of me? Huh?
COME ON!!! Not so brave, ah?
Pppttuuuu!
MMMRRRRIIIIAAAAUUUUUU!!!

Ejem. Sorry about that, my friends. There was a cat trying to pick up a fight with me and my stepbro Prince.

HOW DARE YOU COME TO MY HOUSE!!!

Oh, sorry again. I'm really really upset. Did you know what I had to do to defend Prince? Lucky him I know a lot of techniques of self defense and martial arts. I know taekwondo, roman wrestling, kung fu panda, judo, juttejutsu, yuyitsu and shih-tzu. As you can imagine, I'm invincible.
Wait, I think I hear that cat again. I'm gonna check. Back in a moment.

Hi, I'm Prince. I have to tell you something about Piru: he's a liar. The truth is that I am the one that defends the house from other cats. I am the one that was fighting with the intruder tonight. Do you want to know where was Piru? He was under Mom's car, hiding, with his eyes really wide open. Oh, here he comes now. Bye.

- What are you doing? Are you writing something?
- Me? Oh, no. You know I don't know how to use that thing.
- Yeah, of course you know I know you don't know.
- Whatever.
- Then, shoo, this is none of your business. I'll continue trying to teach you about self-defense later.
-Hiss.

Sorry about the interruption, my friends. Oh, I'm still upset about that stupid cat trying to hit Prince. So, I think I'm gonna take a nap now to rest a little. Hope that cat had learn his lesson and never comes back.

I AM SWEET!

I'm gonna scratch all over whoever says that I'm not sweet!

As Mom says, I'm a sweet kitty with hair for two or three more. It's her joke.

People are strange creatures. They like dogs because they're loyal. We cats aren't. But they like us anyway because of our sweetness and our ability to make sounds and faces that people can't resist. Do you know that Mom is allergic to me? That's the most strangest thing! On the other hand, who can resist this face?

Or this one?

Or even this one?

What do you think?

Family hunting

Today, we went on a family hunting. We like things simple, that's why we don't need all those things humans need to go hunting, not even a big prey; a simple lizard will do just fine.

There was something between the bushes.

I tried to camuflage myself but my silly stepbro, Prince, found me.
He tried it too, but he's not as smart as me.

Even Kala and Liah participated.

But Piccola, as always, was lost and walking around.

At the end we found nothing. But, I don't care, at least it was good exercise. And, because we are "green" pets, we don't need to kill anything. Just scaring them to the bones is enough.

My trip into the island of Puerto Rico

I love to travel and Mom loves it, too. She doesn't have too much time for it, but she does some trips at vacation time. Puerto Rico, where I live, has many beautiful places to go.

This time we went to the mountains of Puerto Rico. We visited Moca, San Sebastián, Lares, Utuado, Jayuya, Adjuntas and Orocovis. There were beautiful landscapes. It was a very relaxing trip. Go to my album in Picasa to see many of the pics: http://picasaweb.google.com/pirulofurry/MyTripToTheMountainsOfPuertoRico?feat=email#
Here are some pics as a preview.

And here you can see the route Mom followed:

Cats can read

Some days, when it's raining and I have to be inside the house all day, I have to find something to do between naps. Sometimes, I wonder between Mom's books. Today, I found one very interesting: "The Loss of a Pet: A Guide to Coping with the Grieving Process When a Pet Dies", by Wallace Sife, Ph.D. I got scare when I first read the title. Is it possible that mom bought it because I'm going to die soon? But, no, later I realized it was an old book. So I started to read some parts that mom highlighted and some very interesting quotes. Here are some of them:

"Everything that lives, lives not alone nor for itself". - William Blake
Of course, you have to live to make your cat happy.

"He prayeth well who loveth well both man and bird and beast". - Samuel Taylor Coleridge
Animals are a big part of God's creation, we even were created first. So, if you can't love animals your prayers can't be heard. Ok?

"There is no greater sorrow than to recall a time of happiness in misery." -Dante
That's why you should always try to live a happy life.

"There is only one smartest dog in the world, and every child has it."- Anonymous
Now stop, I can't agree with that. Maybe there's a smart dog in the world, but not smarter than any cat.

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: a time to be born and a time to die."- Eccles. 3:1
And any time is a good time to feed your cat- JA, JA, JA
