Critter Observer

There are a million strange critters and odd animals around my house.

This is a frog that was spying in the window; I don't know how he got there.

A really ugly rat was around the house. I couldn't get it because I was inside. I have search for it, but found nothing. I'll keep an eye on that thing.

During one of my bird-watching shifts I saw these two beautiful birds. There were a lot of birds like the black one. The black and yellow one was a singer. Oh, so beautiful tunes. I wish I could put my paw on him, you know, just to congratulate him.

This is Mr. Magoo, a coqui that used to live inside the house (Mom said he loved danger, hence the name). The coqui is a little froggy-thing native of Puerto Rico. Many coquies live in Hawaii, too, but they don't want them there because they don't like the sound: "ko-ki, ko-ki"(sadly, they're massively killing them). One day, I'll tell you more things about the coqui.


This little lady bug was in the front yard. I spent hours watching her.

This salamander goes out at night. I've been trying to get it, but it runs too high in the wall.

This caterpillar scared me because it tried to go up my tail. I understood that he wanted to play, so I put my paw over him, but he fell asleep instantly. So much for the fun!


The bees always work so much! I get tired just watching them go from one flower to the other. And the sound they do is funny.

Another tireless workers are the ants. The beautiful thing is that, although there's no leader, they always know what to do, work without supervision and do a lot of team work. I thing humans can learn a thing or two about the ants.

Well, that's my report on strange critters that live around our house.

José De Diego's Day

Today was a holiday in Puerto Rico. We were celebrating the birth of one of the most important thinkers of the island: José De Diego. He was born in the city I live, Aguadilla, but many- many years ago. He was so many things: politician, thinker, educator, poet, jurist, journalist, essayist and orator. In education, he founded the University of Puerto Rico in Mayagüez, where many engineers study, even some that actually work at the NASA. How can a person do so many things?... I don't know, I'm tired already. If José De Diego have heard me, he would recite me one of his most known poems: En la brecha, that encourage people not to become lazy but to act for the things they want. I Love Libraries

I know we pets aren't allowed to enter any library, unless is a guide dog, but I still love books. Mom has a lot of them and she's always using them in her work. So, Prince and I just wanted to congratulate all those librarians that help everybody find the information they need or just want.

Five Pets... A Thousand Names

Hi! I have a question for you: How many names do you have? Silly question? No, no; at least, not in my house. You see, we are five pets here, and each one has it's official name. But Mom loooooves to invent a lot of nicknames for each one of us. I don't care at all, she can call me "Tutti-fruitty" if she wants; if she has prawns in her hands, I'll come anyway.

Let start with the ladies:

This is Kala, AKA: Kalita, Kali, Kalinsky, Coqui and Quikie (because she loves to run everywhere).

This is Piccola, AKA: Picco, Piccolita, Piccolitis, Piccoletta, Piccoletera and Piscola.

This is Liah, AKA: Lulu, Luli, Susi, Misusi, Miñiñi, Moñoñi, Juanita and Dudi.

This is Prince, AKA: Barrigoncito, Pinchi, Pinchito, Pinchitito, Piriririnchi, The Romantic Cat and The Dripping Cat.

And, of course, me, Pirulo, AKA: Piru, Pirulito, Pirulitito, Piruriru, Pirulinsky, Gordo, Gordito, Ballenita and Belleza.

Easy Sunday

*Sigh* Oh, yes, today was an easy day, at least for me. Not for Mom, she was working like crazy cleaning the house with that sucking monster that scares me to the bones. But, I decided to take things easily today, so I hang out all day around the house. It was a beautiful day. The wind was singing and the flowers were blooming, that gave a great idea, so I took a nap.

I even welcomed some visitors. But the most beautiful time of the day was the sunset. Don't you think? Oh, that was awesome! Now, Mom has finished all her duties and here I am, helping her rest a little.

Stressed Brother

Yes, like the title says, Prince was stressed today. I'm not the only one, you know. Prince wanted to go out, but all the doors were closed. So, he was trying desperately to open the door at all costs. Here's the scene. Enjoy! (je, je)
