Virtual Community: Worldwide Friendship

A community is a group of individuals that have common interests.  Originally, they were people that live near, but, with the Internet, a community can live worldwide (virtual community).  This is the case of us anipals.  We live in different countries, but we are virtual neighbors that care and look out for each other.  That is what's happening with my dear friend Iñigo Flufflebum.  Iñigo lives almost half the World away from me, but my heart is right there with him.  He also has the hearts of many other members of our furry community from other countries.  Why?  Because he's sick and the possibility of crossing the RB has been mentioned; that's devastating for all of us.  The Other One was reading Iñigo's update and got leaky eyes.  A friend told her that she shouldn't feel sorry for a cat that lives sooooo far away.  Apparently, that insensitive human doesn't understand the concept of virtual community where distance between bodies can be big, but there's no distance between hearts.
So, even if I'm at the other side of the World, I'm purrrring and purrrring and meawing happy love and energy for my dear friend Iñigo; for him to feel better and for his family to be strong for him.  We love you, Iñigo, never forget that.
Please, visit Iñigo's blog and leave a comment for him to feel the love.

  1. That's so beautiful Piru. I think that's how we all feel about each other. I may be in Colorado, but my heart's with all the anipals who need love and support, especially Inigo right now.

  2. Right on Piru! Some people just don't understand about anipals, period. Doesn't matter where they are. We feel bad for any sick anipal anywhere in the world, even without the Internet. But the Internet does let us get closer and even make friends with anipals and humans around the globe. Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrs

  3. This is so true. I know this post specifically mentions Inigo (who is in my prayers, of course) but I think a great example of our "community" is the overwhelming response to the loss of dear Gunner @tweetypie54. All day there has been an outpouring of support for his family as well as plenty of tears and remembrance. I'm always humbled by how strongly and compassionately the anipal community comes together.

  6. Oh the silly oomans dat don't have anipals - they just don't understand our world-wide family at all. I'm purring very hard for Inigo too. He and his family are so special to us. M and I cried buckets of tears a couple of days ago when @Tweetypie54 crossed over the bridge too. We may be a world apart, but our hearts are together.

  7. My friend, thank you so much for this wonderful post.

It's amazed us all of the wonderful words and kind wishes for Inigo. He's the type of boy that would just be best friends with you as soon as he met you. He's gentle and he loves to be loved. I keep telling him about the posts and kind words that have been pouring in for him and I think it's given him strength. I know your kind words have given me strength.

Thank you so much for all your kindness.
