Out and about... and with a gift basket

Yes, I'm alive. I stayed out aaaaaaaalllllllll night. Well, at 12:30 A.M. I knocked the door and Mom, lucky for me was still awake, opened. She told me: "Oh, so you decided to come in after all". I didn't bother to answer, I went straight to my food and ate as fast as I could. Before 5 minutes I was ready to hit the road again. So I began my little "dance" where I meaw and do little jumps to tell Mom I want to go out again. She looked at me with disapproval, but opened the door anyway; Prince and I ran out as fast as we could . How sweet is the freedom. Anyway, after a while, been out got old, so I went to the back of the house and slept on the balcony until the morning came.

Meanwhile, the stack of boxes is getting higher. It's like been in a labyrinth, but I like it a lot because I can explore and supervise at the same time.

Mom says that her things are like gremlins and they multiply by the minute.

And about the gift basket. I'm so excited: I won The Anipal Times raffle for @Schmittysays' New Yorkie gift basket generously donated by schmittysays.com! Cokie the cat gave me the news, I couldn't believe it. It's the first time I win something and this is so amazing. I hope it arrives soon. Thank you very much, Cokie the cat and Schmittysays!

Mom says that, for this, I should behave to show my gratitude. I think she's right. So, for this wonderful gift, for the comments of all my furry friends telling me to be a good boy and for Mom I promise I'll try harder to be a good kitty.

- He's crossing his paws!
- Shut up, Prince!
It's not true.

One last note. Maybe I will not write for two or three days because of the moving, but I'll tell you all about it the next time.

I have a confession to make...

As you know, I don't have a fun park anymore, so I am free as the wind. I wake up Mom at 4:00 a.m. and off I go all day until she puts me inside against my will, at 10:00 p.m. I am tired she puts me to sleep as if I were a human kid. Does she don't know that cats like to hang out preferably at night time? Does she don't know me at all? I've been with her eight years, so she should know my likes and dislikes, don't you think?
Well, because I wanted to stay up all night I and she didn't let me, I got naughty and misbehave: I peed on Mom's new sofa. That should teach her to respect my wishes.

The smell is so awful even I can't stand it.

When she noticed it, she got furious. She used some cleaners trying to take the smell away and then put a fan directly at it to dry it. I heard her say: "tonight I'm gonna let him stay out all night, if he gets loss or something happens to him, that's his problem". "I am tired of him, everytime we put him inside the house without his approval he does the same thing, but this time is worse because its a new sofa". "He should be grateful that I care about him, and that is why I put him inside the house, I am only protecting him". "Enough is enough, today he will have his wishes fulfill, he will be out 24 hours a day until we move".

Wow, that was harsh. I heard her fighting and I stayed close by but far enough so she won't see me. Who knows, what she will do to me if I get too close.

If I don't post anymore on my blog two things may be the reasons: we move and I don't have access to my computer or that I really got lost. So my dear friends, hope for the best. Bye.

Yes, we are moving...

It's confirmed: we are moving back to Mom's house. It's the house that I grew up. I don't remember that much about it, but I think that, when we get back the smells will help my memory. Anyway, I noticed some strange movements in the house and I consulted it with my furry siblings; they noticed the same things as me. So I decided to inspect the works. To my surprise, one of the first things to get down was my fun-park. It's all just junk now. I'm not worry or sad because that means that I can be out AAAAALLLLLLLL day. Yes! All day to hang out and take naps wherever I please. It's been some days now that I'm out from 4:00 A.M., when I knock at Mom's bedroom door to ask her to let me go out, until 10:00 P.M., when Mom gets me and throw me inside the house. I don't know why, because I can sleep out during the night, too. Mom has been telling me to enjoy myself these days because she's constructing a new fun-park for me and Prince at the house. But the truth is that I like to live here and I don't want to move. I told her that I'm staying here, but she told me that I'll move with her. What do you think? Should I stay here, Momless, but free to walk wherever I want, or should I go with her, where I'll be confine to the new fun-park? Tell me your opinions, please.

Wild herb and seeds

One of the reasons that made Mom decided to fleece me was because my hair got all tangled and it caught all kinds of seeds, wild herbs and straws. Today was Liah's turn. The backyard was wild because my human brother couldn't cut the grass, there have been some rainy days that haven't let him do his work. As you can imagine, the wild herbs were really wild. Today, Liah decided to go to the backyard and have a little exercise running. But, in her paws she caught all the seeds of the grass. Look at that! Mom was horrified when she saw that! She began to pull all those seeds from Liah's fur, but it was almost impossible. So, she took the scissors and cut Liah's leg hairs that were tangled with the seeds. Liah was a little sad about her lost fur, but I told her not to worry, that it'll grow again soon. Mom says that now she has to take Liah to the groomer to fix that horrible haircut that she made.

Liah, before.

Don't tell Liah, but I think that she looks a little funny now- he, he.

Liah, after.

Gradually, back to normal

Things are getting back to normal at home after Piccola's journey through the RB. Mom has been cleaning and re-arranging the office, it's where Piccola used to sleep; now, Kala sleeps alone there. We are moving this month back to Mom's house (now we are renting this house). So, working a lot is helping Mom with the sadness.
On a funny note:
Mom has been working and dealing with so many things these days that she's a little absentminded, I think. The other day, my human sisters where here and, when they and Mom get together they talk A LOT. So, they were talking and Mom wanted to drink from a bottle of water she had near. But, instead of taking the bottle of water, she took a bottle of rubbing alcohol that was besides the water. When she drank it, immediately spited it out and my sisters began to laugh and make jokes about Mom. Later, they continued with their conversation and Mom was going to give Liah her antibiotic pill. At that same moment, one of the girls told Mom to remember to take her pill. So, Mom, instantly put Liah's pill in her mouth. Thanks God, a second later she realized the error and spited the pill. Again, the girls began to make jokes and Mom was laughing, too. When they left told Mom to try not to make herself ill drinking or taking other's pills. Mom laughed.

Now, I'm watching Mom so she behaves properly.

To all my furry friends

My family and I are very thankful to all my furry and human friends for all the support, kind words, hugs, purrs and all the love you have shown us during this difficult time.
Piccola crossed the Rainbow Bridge this rainy first day of june. I think it was raining because heaven was sad that such a beautiful soul had to leave her family, specially her Mom. Piccola was nervous all the time during the trip because it used to make her very excited to get into the car. It was an hour and a half of hearing her cry and walk in circles inside the pet taxi. But, when Mom and Piccola arrived to grandma's house, Piccola was even a little happy. Then, grandma told Mom that Piccola was calm at the Vet's office. She began her journey to the Bridge without a fight, in peace.
Again, I want to thank you all for show us a love that have been coming from around the world, something that I never imagined; the kind of love that Piccola deserved.

A letter for Piccola

Mom asked me to let her use this space to write a letter for Piccola, so she'll be the author of this post.

Dear Piccola:

It is so hard to write this letter, but it's been harder to make the decision that I'll explain to you next.
I remember the day you came to my life. It was just the right time, I was desperately seeking for a companion because I lost my last pet. The house felt so terribly lonely without a dog and I was telling everyone to help me find a chihuahua to adopt. Then you came. You were so tiny that you fitted completely in just one of my hands... yes, a month and a half month old chihuahua. It was love at first sight. From that moment on we were inseparable. I remember that, because you missed your doggie mom, I used to put you in my chest and sit in a rocking chair while listening to music from Enya. You loved that music and got asleep without any problem.
You were so smart from the beginning and always learned everything that I taught you so fast. The first thing you always did from the beginning was to every morning go to my bedroom door to wake me. Then you learned to climb up to my shoulders to ride there as if you were a parakeet; oh, that was always funny. And there was that time when I realized how brilliant you were. We were having the winds and rains of a hurricane, it was really scary. Your sister Melody got really scared, too, so scared that, instead of stay in the balcony where I prepared her a hiding place, she went running to the backyard before I could get her. I was calling her hysterically because it was too dangerous for anyone to be out (things were flying with the strong winds), but she didn't came. Then you came to me, looked at me and looked at the backyard. I told you: "Piccola, go get her, go get Melody and make her come inside the house". With a brave heart, you went into the rain and strong winds looking for Melody in the backyard. Then my heart stopped, because you didn't came back fast enough. Just when I was going to go after both of you, you came running from the backyard with Melody behind you. It was an amazing experience that showed me that animals understand much more than we humans think.
Even in your last years, been much older than the "appropriate" learning age for dogs, you continued to learn some tricks that I taught you, maybe not as fast, but you did learn them.
My dear sweetie, you have been my companion for 19 years. I want you to know that you have been the perfect pet, and that it makes me so sad to lose you. You have been ill for some time now and I know that you're suffering from various aches that make you uncomfortable and sad. I don't want you to suffer anymore and I don't want you to be in more pain. A pain that will only be more intensive from now on.
That's why today, we will have a trip. We will go to grandma's house so you can say hello to grandma, grandpa and the uncle. Then, grandma will take you on another trip to the Vet. He will help you ease your pains. He will give you a pass to go to a Rainbow Bridge. We both like rainbows, so you'll see it's a beautiful place. The Vet will give you something that will make you want to sleep, it's a peaceful sleep, so there's nothing to be afraid of. After that, only you will know what will happen, but I can assure you that you'll be pain free.
I can't be with you in that last journey, but I want you to know that the same way you have always been with me physically, you will always be in my heart and my memory, and I'll always cherish the years you dedicated to me and the unconditional love you gave me. My sweet-sweet Piccola, I will miss you very much and I will always love you.
