Today, I asked Mom for a new cell phone, specifically an iPhone. She started to laugh so loud that I got disoriented. It was no joke! My actual cell is too old. See?

After Mom stop laughing, she told me that my request was impossible, that the monthly payment is too high and that I will not be able to use it appropriately. Who does she think she's talking with? I'm even more technologically oriented by the minute. I LOVE texting with my friends and I'm a dedicated learner of acronyms and text message jargon.

To prove it, I'm including a short list of some of those acronyms.

Famous cats

Oh, hi! Here I am... bored. Mom went out to work aaaaaallllll daaaayyyy.
I'm not gonna complain, somebody has to earn money to buy cat food.

I stayed alone all day, well, there were my stepbro and sis, but they don't socialize if Mom's not around. So I decided to do something by myself. Since I liked so much the history lesson Albert The Cat gave the other day in his blog, I decided to find out something interesting in that area. What can be more interesting than the history of cats in my country, Puerto Rico. So I headed up to Mom's library to check her books.

Nothing there. It's shameful. Then, I had to use the Internet. Let's see... mmm.... aja.....ohhh... *yawwwwwnn*.... nop.....nop......nop.... nothing here....oh, what is that? I don't know what they are doing, but it's not related to cats. *Blushing*, change it, change it, change it!!!

Well, no luck so far. But I did find something interesting: A list of names of famous cats. Go ahead and see if yours is there. Mine isn't, so I have the oportunity to be the first one.

Cat fight

Do you want a piece of me? Huh?
COME ON!!! Not so brave, ah?

Ejem. Sorry about that, my friends. There was a cat trying to pick up a fight with me and my stepbro Prince.

Oh, sorry again. I'm really really upset. Did you know what I had to do to defend Prince? Lucky him I know a lot of techniques of self defense and martial arts. I know taekwondo, roman wrestling, kung fu panda, judo, juttejutsu, yuyitsu and shih-tzu. As you can imagine, I'm invincible.
Wait, I think I hear that cat again. I'm gonna check. Back in a moment.

Hi, I'm Prince. I have to tell you something about Piru: he's a liar. The truth is that I am the one that defends the house from other cats. I am the one that was fighting with the intruder tonight. Do you want to know where was Piru? He was under Mom's car, hiding, with his eyes really wide open. Oh, here he comes now. Bye.

- What are you doing? Are you writing something?
- Me? Oh, no. You know I don't know how to use that thing.
- Yeah, of course you know I know you don't know.
- Whatever.
- Then, shoo, this is none of your business. I'll continue trying to teach you about self-defense later.

Sorry about the interruption, my friends. Oh, I'm still upset about that stupid cat trying to hit Prince. So, I think I'm gonna take a nap now to rest a little. Hope that cat had learn his lesson and never comes back.

I'm gonna scratch all over whoever says that I'm not sweet!

As Mom says, I'm a sweet kitty with hair for two or three more. It's her joke.

People are strange creatures. They like dogs because they're loyal. We cats aren't. But they like us anyway because of our sweetness and our ability to make sounds and faces that people can't resist. Do you know that Mom is allergic to me? That's the most strangest thing! On the other hand, who can resist this face?

Or this one?

Or even this one?

What do you think?

Family hunting

Today, we went on a family hunting. We like things simple, that's why we don't need all those things humans need to go hunting, not even a big prey; a simple lizard will do just fine.

There was something between the bushes.

I tried to camuflage myself but my silly stepbro, Prince, found me.
He tried it too, but he's not as smart as me.

Even Kala and Liah participated.

But Piccola, as always, was lost and walking around.

At the end we found nothing. But, I don't care, at least it was good exercise. And, because we are "green" pets, we don't need to kill anything. Just scaring them to the bones is enough.

My trip into the island of Puerto Rico

I love to travel and Mom loves it, too. She doesn't have too much time for it, but she does some trips at vacation time. Puerto Rico, where I live, has many beautiful places to go.

This time we went to the mountains of Puerto Rico. We visited Moca, San Sebastián, Lares, Utuado, Jayuya, Adjuntas and Orocovis. There were beautiful landscapes. It was a very relaxing trip. Go to my album in Picasa to see many of the pics: http://picasaweb.google.com/pirulofurry/MyTripToTheMountainsOfPuertoRico?feat=email#
Here are some pics as a preview.

And here you can see the route Mom followed:

Cats can read

Some days, when it's raining and I have to be inside the house all day, I have to find something to do between naps. Sometimes, I wonder between Mom's books. Today, I found one very interesting: "The Loss of a Pet: A Guide to Coping with the Grieving Process When a Pet Dies", by Wallace Sife, Ph.D. I got scare when I first read the title. Is it possible that mom bought it because I'm going to die soon? But, no, later I realized it was an old book. So I started to read some parts that mom highlighted and some very interesting quotes. Here are some of them:

"Everything that lives, lives not alone nor for itself". - William Blake
Of course, you have to live to make your cat happy.

"He prayeth well who loveth well both man and bird and beast". - Samuel Taylor Coleridge
Animals are a big part of God's creation, we even were created first. So, if you can't love animals your prayers can't be heard. Ok?

"There is no greater sorrow than to recall a time of happiness in misery." -Dante
That's why you should always try to live a happy life.

"There is only one smartest dog in the world, and every child has it."- Anonymous
Now stop, I can't agree with that. Maybe there's a smart dog in the world, but not smarter than any cat.

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: a time to be born and a time to die."- Eccles. 3:1
And any time is a good time to feed your cat- JA, JA, JA

Vacation time is almost over

"All of the animals except man know
that the principal business of life
is to enjoy it."
- Samuel Butler

Oh, and I enjoy life when Mom's at home. People have a tendency to complicate their lifes, in the meantime, they get grumpy, stressed and sometimes depressed because of all the problems they have to face. But for us pets enjoy life is no secret, specially if we have loving moms and dads.
That's why today I'm happy and sad at the same time. Vacation time for Mom is almost over. I love when Mom's here all the time, or almost all the time. There are many advantages for me, my stepbro and stepsisters when Mom is at home. We enjoy life because she takes time to do nice things for us during the day.

For example, the other day Mom was looking for some papers and throwed out a box. She knows I LOVE boxes, so gave it to me. Oh, that was a wonderful evening.

Another nice thing is that Mom's always looking out to know where we are, so we don't get lost. Sometimes I play a little and hide under the stairs and make her come down looking for me.

When Mom is at the house, Prince has the tendency to get more "romantic", as she calls him. He even has time to smell the roses from time to time.

Liah loves when Mom's at home all day because Mom gives her snacks. And Liah loves snacks, she even dances for them.

What Kala doesn't like when Mom's at home are the baths. Kala begins to shake only with the though of a bath. But Mom says that she has to take regular baths to smell like a lady.

Even Piccola has more time to walk around the house when Mom's at home. Picco likes to walk and walk and walk, then sleeps and sleeps for a lot of hours.

We have all those things even when it's not vacation time. But, we still prefer to have Mom all day with us. Although, the truth is that someone has to sacrifice their preferences for some things more important. That's why we pets sacrifice our time with Mom, so she can go to work and have money for pet food.

Prince's day at the vet

Today, mom didn't care much about me. She took Prince to the vet and that's work for the entire day. Apparently, Prince has an allergy or a rash. He's been scratching himself and pulling out his own fur for some days now. So, mom decided to take him to the Vet today. Somehow, Prince found out about mom's plans (it wasn't me) and disappeared early in the morning. Mom was calling and calling him for a long time, but he wasn't around. I was taking a nap, so I couldn't help her look for him.

Finally, mom saw Prince at the neighbors' backyard. They weren't there, so she had to call him and offer him some snacks and wait until he climbed the wall. Now that I'm thinking about it: I wasn't far away, why wasn't I offered some of those snacks? Anyway, that was just the begining of mom's odyssey to take Prince to the vet.

Prince hates cars, the pet taxi, the vet, the vet's office and needles. So, his little trip was an awful experience, specially since the doctor is an hour away. He even tried to escape at the vet's office, but mom knows how to handle him. It's not that I care much if he gets lost, but I don't want to see mom feeling sad.

Now, he has to drink twice a day the antibiotics the Vet prescribed, and that's another story. You see, I drink everything, medicine, food, snacks. But Prince is not like me, he hates medicines and Mom has to struggle a lot to put anything in his mouth. So poor Mom, she will be having this nigtmare twice a day for quite some time.

The vet also thinks that Prince has an allergy, so he prescribed some medicines. Apparently, Prince will be fine soon. Good for him. The only thing in this story that makes me happy is that it wasn't me the one who was taken to the Vet.

I love to eat

Mom says that everyone in the family should have oral hygiene. That's why she bought for me and Prince a tartar control snack from Purina. It's tuna flavored and I love it. Watch these video where I explains it. Have fun!

Is it a new decade?

Does it mean that I was born the last decade? Well, don't call me old, okey? Last night there were so much noise that three of my stepbros were trembling like leaves. I decided to stay near mom, in her chair. See?
Out, at the street, were the fireworks making a lot of loud noise. But when I'm in mom's lap, nothing can happen to me.

Today, mom picked up a lot of garbage left by the explosions that fell in the backyard. Imagine if me or anyone of my family have been there, some of that garbage would have fall on us. Terrible, just terrible!

But, today is a new day, and a new decade. Let's hope it will be better for all.
